The weft is set with ‘darbha’ or ‘kusha’ grass (Desmostachya Bipinnata), while the warp is with thread. If you see the history of yoga, Darbha grass is the original yoga seat material that was used in ancient times by yogis. “According to early Buddhist accounts, it was the material used by Buddha for his meditation seat when he attained enlightenment.
